Inclusion

The magic of sport fosters inclusion, adaption and well-being of well-being of all youth, including those with disabilities and further marginalized youth such as refugees.

By having each player give a Hi 5 to the other side at the start of all games, is a sign of respect, inclusion and friendship. Sport helps to reduce the stigma and discrimination associated with disability through transforming community attitudes about youth with disabilities. By highlighting the skills of these young people, we reduce the tendency to see the disability instead of the person.

Youth without disabilities interact with youth with disabilities in a positive context forcing them to reshape assumptions about what persons with disabilities can and cannot do.

Through sport, we also mobilize and equip refugee youth with the tools to realize their full potential and learn about their human rights. Through the process, they are empowered to advocate for changes in society regarding issues such as negative perceptions, discrimination and exclusion from education, employment and community life, all of which deprives them of opportunities essential to their social development, health and well-being.

We work towards social inclusion and social integration of youth with disabilities and refugees.

One of the great strengths of sport is its inclusiveness, the way it creates a sense of belonging.
