Life Skills

Through sports we promote life and leadership skills that develop qualities in youth that help advance their employability resulting in more job opportunities.

Our sport program provides answers on what employers expect from employees? Youth joining the workforce learn and experience many soft skills while playing including punctuality, discipline, creativity and positivity. They practice being team players, risk takers and leaders in their own fields as well as being respectful, responsible and proactive, all while having fun. Other values such as ethics, attitudes and communications are also developed – all of them relevant to the world of work.

In addition, youth take part in leadership training seminars facilitated by experts and get motivation from successful business leaders and influential personalities within and outside the world of sport.

We also support youth to enroll on professional sport, healthcare and management training courses. At the end of the program, youth have a large range of career options. Many of our beneficiaries are employed in jobs that centre around:

  • Coaching/Training
  • Event Management
  • Sports Marketing
  • Sports Entrepreneurship
  • Refereeing
  • Physical activity, lifestyle or healthy ageing coaching
  • Player scouting
  • Nutritionists

Alternatively, for youth willing to venture outside sport re offered three months business placements and connection to mentors within the construction industry. This helps them learn hands-on skills in building, plumbing, brick-making among others and how to operate such businesses first hand. We also provide modern agricultural training practices.

“While sports are, and should be, a means of staying fit, having fun, and forming friendships, a recreational endeavour, they also have a plethora of advantages when it comes to instilling skills that will prove essential in their education, employment, and daily life”.
